Every year, the Pantone Color Institute announces the latest color palette, which features upcoming trendy hues. We’re excited to see what colorful interiors homeowners create with the palette, which is full of earthy and energetic colors. Here are 5 rooms that have inspired us to add these incredible colors to our homes.
The 2025 Palette
At first glance, it’s a lot to look at! But, look closer…there are two blues, two browns, and three greens that are sure to work effortlessly together or alone. The pops of purple, yellow, and orange add some fun and character. This palette practically screams, “Play with me!” Which would you mix and match?
Neutrals are Here to Stay!
Even with fun new colors, we will never be able to say “goodbye” to neutrals. Compared to past selections, the newest neutrals are warm and soothing. How cozy is Rum Raisin? We love to see blue used as a neutral, too. Now, let’s take a look at a few spaces that have incorporated the new palette…
Space 1: Kitchen
When’s the last time you stepped into somebody’s kitchen and thought, “Wow! This is colorful!” Chances are, it’s been a very long time—or hasn’t happened (yet). Whites and light neutrals are incredibly popular in kitchen design. You really can’t go wrong with neutrals in the kitchen! But, colorful interiors are making a comeback. This space is a beautiful example. The blue geometric backsplash is eye-catching with Mid-century modern cabinets that create a stunning contrast. The lower cabinets, as well as the countertop, feature 2025’s favorite neutral, Moonbeam. Play around with colors and neutrals for your ideal design.
Space 2: Dining Room
Have you ever seen orange and yellow paired together? The unlikely duo makes for a delightful design. This dining room shows how this creative coupling can actually work flawlessly. It’s definitely a dramatic style statement, but it’s done so well because there isn’t too much. The natural flooring and gentle wallpaper help to balance it out, creating one of our favorite colorful interiors yet.
Space 3: Mudroom
Mudrooms can get messy fast. Organizational systems can help with that, and the right colors can keep this space feeling more calm and less chaotic. Plus, there’s nothing like a freshly painted room to motivate you to keep it clean! Try a softer hue, like the green featured here, paired with natural elements. Your mudroom will quickly become a favorite spot.
Space 4: Living Room
Pink and purple don’t get enough attention. We’re hoping 2025’s Crocus will change that. This living room shows just how luxurious pink hues can be. With the right pieces, pink/purple can add bold color without feeling like they’re too much.
Space 5: Bathroom
When it comes to colorful interiors, don’t forget about your bathrooms. In the past, modern design has featured sleek, shiny surfaces. Now, we’re seeing more flat finishes and warmer colors. Trends are leaning towards organic, natural, and muted tones. This space does a beautiful job of combining trending colors with organic touches—and let’s not forget about the gorgeous outdoor backdrop. Window treatments are, without a doubt, the most important part of a bathroom. You absolutely need privacy, but you don’t have to give up your view.
