Dual Honeycomb Shades
Two shades are joined in the middle–one to filter light, one to block it out. Adjusting up and down, you can change the light entering the room. The light-filtering portion can soften light, or simply reveal the view with translucent fabrics. The room darkening portion can darken the room with specialty fabrics. Whether you windows are covered entirely with the light-filtering shade, the room darkening shade, or a balance of both, you always get the best results for home energy efficiency. These Hunter Douglas dual shades operate with the highest industry ratings for window shades.
Secondary Blackout Roller Shade
Many of our double layer window shades operate with a secondary blackout roller shade behind a light-filtering front shade. This system provides such a wide range of control. Instead of just choosing one type of control or the other, now you can have both light-filtering and room darkening. This dual shade system is a very popular choice for well-loved collections, like our Hunter Douglas Silhouette shades, creating a room darkening option for sheer shades. Other double layer roller blinds are Solar Shades, Woven Textures, Roller Shades, and Vignette Modern Romans. The two shades share a headrail, but operate independent of one another.
Secondary Honeycomb Shade
Finally–it’s an option to make woven woods energy efficient! We know just how beautiful homes can look with the soft, filtered light of our Provenance Woven Shades at the window. But sometimes, you want more control when it comes to lighting and temperature. Now, you can have the glow and textured beauty of natural fibers at the window. Then, you can experience temperature regulation and room darkening when lowering the secondary honeycomb shade into place behind the front shade. Still beautiful–just more controlled.
