How does the Design Consultation process work?

We offer free in-home design consultations to window covering clients that are beginning their process of finding the right window treatments for their homes. You can contact the professionals at California Window Fashions to schedule an appointment. During your appointment, you’ll meet with your window covering specialist to share challenges you’re experiencing with your windows and talk about styles you like. Your window covering designer will show you inspiration and fabrics samples, along with sharing ideas and advice about your home. During the design consultation, professional measurements will be taken for all of your windows. We keep the measurements on file for future projects if you’re starting out with a few select treatments. After your consultation, you’ll receive the proposal for your project, with details and pricing. This is an adjustable quote–changes can be made to fit your needs and budget.

How are window covering selections made?

Our window covering specialists have extensive product knowledge, using interior design to help guide you to the right window treatments. It’s a great idea to have a design consultation in your home, where you can share the window issues you’re facing. Your window treatment designer will also be able to advise you of layout challenges and directional lighting needs. From there, it’s a huge benefit for you to visit our window treatment store in Roseville. In the showroom, you’ll see the entire collection of Hunter Douglas products and features, from stunning roman shades and plantation shutters, to motorized blinds and dual shades. You’ll develop confidence in your selections, along with the features and fabrics you love.

How long does it take for the new window coverings to arrive?

Once your window treatments have been chosen and ordered, installation is typically able to be scheduled within three weeks. Plantation Shutters can take longer, sometimes six to eight weeks for installation. Depending on the products and features, there is a chance to have everything installed sooner, but these are the typical timelines.

Do you offer professional installation of the window treatments?

Yes. Our professional installers at California Window Fashions are certified Hunter Douglas installers. We strongly believe the installation of your window coverings is one of the most important steps of the process–the key to them lasting is high quality installation. Our installation team values your home–we strive to show the highest respect to the treatment and service we offer.
