Accents, focal points…this is the year of the Feature Wall. The design statements being made in homes all over are nothing short of awe-inspiring! And, if your walls are floor to ceiling windows…no worries! We have a number of window coverings to help you set an amazing scene with those, as well.
Design Savvy Board & Batten
The latest feature wall craze is board & batten. Created with layers of wood, the sky’s the limit when it comes to design. Kim, of @lemonleafhomeinteriors, wowed us all with this blue wall in one of the bedrooms of her home. So many beautiful layers in this room–all coming together for a stunning result. Dark Painted Shiplap
We’ve all loved the shiplap movement–or, many of us have, anyway–but the newest trend is paint. While white shiplap is still well-loved, painted shiplap comes off as chic and moody, a perfect style statement for a new decade. Sindy, of Instagram’s @tanglewood_homes, proves that creating a dark backdrop allows other design elements to stand out. Her gallery wall is #goals.
The Creative Feature Wall
In the last couple of years, wallpaper has made an enormous comeback. And, while it’s still a top choice, there’s another feature wall gaining traction in design. In a creative approach, stenciling, hand-painting and hand-stamping walls add both style and a personal touch. Kera, of @hautehouselove, took on her closet wall with a sponge and this dark paint color. The result? Fabulous finish, budget-friendly and a fun-filled afternoon. See more from Kera on her site.
Wall of Windows
When the focal point of your space is a floor-to-ceiling window, you can create a dynamic look–loads of style with function, too! These designer banded shades are an innovative play on roller shades. One rotation takes them from light filtered view-through, to closed-off privacy. And, the shapes allow you to style a feature wall of your own.
